The only thing that remains the same in a multi modal environment is…
… the Bus Shelter
A connected vehicle is equipped with the latest in scanners, sensors, and cameras which enables it to perceive and react faster than a human driver. This include smart routing, self-parking, and eco-driving (making optimum driving decisions and smoothing the acceleration cycle), all of which have the potential to reduce tailpipe emissions. By connecting to a static structure such as the SMART Hub instructions can be broadcast on the outer facing screen to direct pedestrians and passengers to safety in the event of an accident or emergency.
Today’s Connected Vehicles need
SMART Transit Hubs
The Atlas SMART Transit Hub is a portable off grid solution with the latest Intelligent systems as a connected infrastructure. The Hub will provide critical real time communication with connected vehicles, transit authorities and other designated entities. As a mobile resource, the Hub can be relocated to draw people and services to a safe location for distribution of critical information or resources. This would be valuable at special events where people are not familiar with their surroundings or changes to transit plans. A unique feature of our Hub is charging stations for small electric vehicles for a seamless transition to different modes of transportation such as electric bikes and scooters.
Technology, Infrastructure, People
Smart Cities are made possible by the Internet Of Things (IoT). Information technology is acquired, shared, & analyzed In a given environment.
Insights gained from that data are used to manage assets, resources and services efficiently; in return, that data is used to improve the operations across the city to enhance the residents lives. Transporting people safely is a key component.
New Technologies use Renewable Energy
The Benefits of Renewable Energy
- Clean energy from earth’s natural resources
- No gas emissions from fossil fuels
- Reduces air pollution
- Diversifying energy supply
- Reducing dependence on imported fuels
- Renewable energy won’t run out.
- Creating good paying jobs in manufacturing, technology and installations.
- Numerous health & environmental benefits
Resilience in the event of Critical Power Disruption
If a community experiences a critical power disruption, the ATLAS hub continues to provide information and support in its neighborhood. The ATLAS Hub will continue to have power that will renew from solar and wind resources even while power is being consumed. Although the neighborhood will be off line, an operating WiFi router and on line media management system will continue to connect responders to the community. If the ATLAS Hub hosts sensors monitoring local conditions, it can continue to relay information about conditions even during power outages.
